Our Internship Program

The Rutgers University School of Business at Camden Internship Program offers qualified students majoring in the areas of accounting, finance, human resource management, management, and marketing an opportunity to gain professional employment experience that complements their academic background in business.

How Do Students Benefit from Participating in an Internship?

The Internship Program is designed to supplement the academic program by giving students a “real world” employment experience prior to graduation.

Internships offer:

The opportunity to learn the practical application of their area of study.
An excellent way to build a resume
A good source for building a professional network
Exposure to “cutting edge” theories being used in the business world
Academic credit towards graduation requirements

Guidelines for Student Admission into the Internship Program

Students must apply for admission into the program. Permission is granted only through the Internship Coordinator for the School of Business. The guidelines are:

Students must be enrolled in the School of Business
A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required
A minimum of 120 hours of work is required throughout the semester
Students must be prepared to complete assignments, host an on-site visit by the Internship Coordinator and to be evaluated by their employer to receive credit and a grade for the course.

Make an appointment to meet Joe Haro, School of Business Internship Coordinator. Mr. Haro can be reached at (856) 225-6677. Mr. Haro’s office is located in Room 215 of the Business and Science Building. (office hours are posted on the door or online (Internship Hours PDF)
Check the Internship Data Bank at the Career Center for internship leads. Be ready to discuss possible leads with Mr. Haro at your initial program interview.
Bring a resume to your initial program interview.
