ETHICS: Rutgers Team Participates in International Ethics Case Competition The University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management hosts a yearly competition for undergraduates to analyze and present a case study dealing with issues of business ethics. Rutgers students began participating last year when Heather Youkneveich and Valeri Feriozzi traveled to Tucson to compete. On October 27th our second team represented Rutgers in this event – veteran Valeri Feriozzi along with Jennifer Contreras. This case competition is part of the E-tegrity initiative at Eller College, a coordinated effort to place ethics at the core of their curriculum and culture. The goal of this event is to challenge students’ moral reasoning and raise awareness of the importance of ethical responsibility in business. It’s an educational opportunity that carries the added benefit of network building with students from a variety of prestigious universities. This year’s winners were Brigham Young University (1st place), Case Western Reserve University (2nd place), University of Washington (3rd place). In total, 20 schools compete, many of them represented by teams with extensive experience in case competitions across the US and in other countries. Our Rutgers teams in 2006 and 2007 have pioneered in this new involvement for our undergraduate students. They have established a record of strong performance against very tough competition, representing the School of Business to a high standard. When you get the chance, please congratulate Valeri and Jennifer on their great performance as the 2007 ethics case competition team.

WHERE’S MY STUFF? A random check of undergraduate b-school file folders on the second floor told Dr. KS that either 1) you don’t check them regularly and/or 2) you don’t know that you have a folder. Each student has a folder with your name. Many professors distribute graded assignments by using your folders.
Stop in or email if you have any questions. A special “thank you” to those students who spotted errors in the schedule, gave suggestions, and contribute to the School of Business community in so many ways.
