MBA Concentration
MBA Concentration requires the
following courses: Accounting for Financial Reporting (010:502),
Accounting for Managerial Decisions (010:503) plus at least three
elective courses from the accounting field offered by the MBA
Program.
Accounting Concentration provides opportunities in wide variety of
fields for employment such as corporate accounting, cost accounting,
budgeting, cost analysis, public accounting (auditing), and internal
auditing and financial Analysis. Organizations that offer accounting
jobs are numerous including all business firms, accounting firms,
government and other non-profit organizations, the Internal Revenue
Service, the CIA and the FBI.
Accounting Concentration can also be used for certification in
public accounting (CPA), Internal Auditing (CIA) and management
accounting (CMA).
Information about the specific requirements for sitting for the CPA,
CIA, or CMA can be obtained from the organizations running these
tests such as the American Institute of Public Accountants (AICPA)
for the CPA. There are different requirements for education and
experience among the states in which the test is taken. Students
also need to consult the specific web site of the state in which
they would like to be certified.
